Logging in and Opening PowerPoint on a Windows Vista Classroom ComputerWhen you log in to a classroom computer with Windows Vista, you may see a message about "Smart Board Drivers."
The message contains a loading bar and Cancel button. Do NOT click Cancel. This will stop the process of opening PowerPoint.
The popup appears behind the message. Click the OK button in this window.
A dialog box appears with the message, "You must close these to continue." Click OK.
PowerPoint starts and the Camtasia dialogs will appear. Camtasia is the program that instructors can use to record their class session.
Uncheck "Show me this each time" to prevent these messages from appearing the next time you log in, and then click OK.
Other tips:
If video or other multimedia are inserted into a PowerPoint presentation, be sure to include these files in the same directory as the PowerPoint file.
If you are having problems with your videos on a classroom computer, the files may have been created using a video encoder that is not installed on the computer. The necessary software will need to be installed. Contact IMS for assistance.
