Instructional Media Center Classroom Computers Upgraded to Windows Vista
To maintain consistency and interoperability with the Open Access Labs, the computers in all of the classrooms maintained by Instructional Media Services have been upgraded to Windows Vista for the start of the Fall semester.

We understand that many classroom instructors may use software other than Microsoft PowerPoint. If you plan on using specific software this fall in the classrooms, it is imperative that you check the list of the software that will remain on the Windows Vista computers.

The past software usage statistics have been reviewed and some changes were made to the list of installed applications (http://cis.tamu.edu/oal/labs/softwarelist.php). Software not used for the past several years have been removed. This list can be viewed by clicking "Software NOT on the Vista image."

We encourage instructors to see the new Vista deployment now installed in the Blocker, Read, Student Computing Center, Wisenbaker, and West Campus Library Open Access Labs. If software necessary for your students to complete their coursework is missing, please complete a software install request at http://cis.tamu.edu/oal/labs/softwareinstall.php.

If you need assistance with a computer running Vista in one of these locations, please ask the lab help desk personnel. If you have any comments or other needs, please email lss-admin@keystone.tamu.edu.
