Do's and Don'ts
Classroom Equipment Reservations
Please cancel your reservation when the equipment is no longer needed. This frees equipment for other users.
Be sure to update your reservation if any information about the class changes such as time, room, or building.
Using Classroom Equipment
To avoid surprises, arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts, and test your presentations and video/audio files.
To prevent equipment damage, please do not place drinks on or around the equipment podium.
Chalk dust can cause machines to overheat, so please do not place chalk or chalkboard erasers on the the podiums.
For handy storage of your files, use a thumb drive/memory stick. Also, it is good practice to carry a back-up storage device.
Use your own NetID and password to log in to the classroom computer. Using someone else's NetID is against university computer security rules.
Always log off from the classroom computer. Otherwise, the next user will have to log you off then log in, which can take several minutes.
Notify the media center if you need special software installed. Please be aware that certain requirements must be met before installation (see Equipment Descriptions).
Do not unplug any equipment cables from the wall or inside the equipment rack.
For Mac users, bring your own Mac DVI/mini-DVI-to-VGA adapter, since the classrooms are not equipped with this adapter.
Organization & Department Reservations
Be aware that organizations and departments are subject to charges for using equipment.
Equipment can be reserved on a first-come first-served basis.
If a night or weekend setup is needed, make a reservation at least a week in advance to ensure resources are properly allocated.
If equipment is checked out, be sure to turn it in by 8:00 a.m. on the due date. Otherwise, you will be charged for an extra day.
To avoid surprises, arrive early to set up and test your presentations.
